Thanks to community for supporting Woman’s Club
It is with great pride and heartfelt thanks that the Aurora Junior Woman’s Club would like to recognize the Fox Valley community for its overwhelming support of our annual fundraiser, our children’s play, “A Toy’s Story.” It was our pleasure to bring this children’s favorite to you, to let your family experience a live theater performance at a cost that fits these difficult times, all while helping the needy kids in our area.
Our three shows were virtually sold-out, which is the first time in many years, and hopefully a new trend for the future. Our estimated profit to be put back in the community is approximately $13,000. Thank you, Fox Valley.
The circle of friends, sponsors and volunteers who supported this venture is beyond belief. A fundraiser of this type and magnitude cannot take place without each and every one of them playing an integral part. They have helped bring this event to the next level. They have reached out to us and we welcomed their efforts. The list of sponsors and volunteers is so long we can’t list them all individually, but you know who you are.
We do thank the North Central Illinois Labor Council for their continued event sponsorship, and hope they understand the impact they make on this event. Two other businesses that made a difference were the Paramount Arts Centre and Montgomery Popcorn. Last-minute situations came up, and they came through.
All of this being said, we must now publicly apologize for the technical difficulties experienced during our Friday evening performance. We hope that type of experience is never duplicated and that you felt it good enough to give us another chance next year.
In anticipation of next year’s show, we are evaluating the ticket sale process and the seating reservations to accommodate sold-out performances. It was a dream that we only hoped for until this year.
